Hyderabad bomb blasts send shock waves among people
The
union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has today visited the
unfortunate place where series of Hyderabad bomb blasts took place in Dilsukhnagar.
Dilsukhnagar area, which is supposedly one of the busiest places in the
city was not the first time that reportedly entered the target list of
terrorists. In fact, a couple of years a bomb was noticed and defused
near foot over bridge of Dilsukhnagar. Even after that incident, it was
really unfortunate, as per the observers and common people, that proper
steps were not taken to prevent such incidents.
Sushil
Kumar Shinde last night mentioned to the media that the union home
ministry alerted the state governments about the terrorist activities.
Nonetheless, he said that there was no specific alert on Hyderabad. Even
after alerting, what Kiran sarkar has done? What steps did it take to
ensure public safety, are the questions that are being widely discussed
across the city irrespective of age groups.
Even
TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, who visited Dilsukhnagar area this
morning, has enquired about the incident. He said these bomb blasts are
result of negligence of government. Governor ESL Narasimhan, chief
minister Kiran Kumar, home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and other
ministers too visited the place.
The
kin and kith of the deceased are going to get Rs. 7 lakh exgratia from
Andhra Pradesh Government and Rs. 2 lakh exgratia from the prime
minister, said Sushil Kumar Shinde.
What happened last night?
At
around 7 pm on Thursday night, Dilsukhnagar area was as usual bustling
with people. Suddenly, a major explosion took place outside Konark
theatre. Within a few seconds another blast took place at Venkatadri
theatre. In all, as per various media reports, over a dozen people lost
their lives while hundreds of persons got injured out of which ten
persons' condition was said to be critical. The injured persons were
shifted to nearby hospitals.
Voxpop:
“I
was in the city bus. Completed my duty and boarded the bus in Koti. As
the bus reached Dilsukhnagar, there was horrible sound that made me
think that I lost my ears. After about 10 to 15 seconds, another sound I
heard. The bus shook. Then we noticed that bomb blasts occurred. This
is unfortunate.”
All
in all, it's really unfortunate to note this incident. Andhra Wishesh
is deeply saddened by the serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad. It is the
time for all of us to (especially the political parties) to put aside
the agendas and condemn the terrorism instead of playing blame game. May
the souls of the deceased rest in peace!
