Tirupati: Devotees rush is normal and nearly eight compartments are full in the queue complex. The average darshan time is less than four hours. Nearly 66,250 devotees visited the temple town on Monday. The temple authorities plan to celebrate the Karthika Pournami utsav on Wednesday. The celbrations would be a cynosure to the devotees late in the evening after the regular poojas.

Nellore: Devotees gathered in huge numbers at the Nellore Mosque to celebrate the 'Rottela Panduga'. The annual event was celebrated with fervour by devotees of various faiths.

 

Medak: Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu's massive walkathon reaches tenth day in Medak district. The veteran leader is to cross 18-km stretch, today while addressing various sections of people in the district.

Entertainment: Dhamarukam going strong. The socio-fantasy flick with Nagarjuna and Anushka Shetty, in the lead, seems to be breaking all records from day one. The film boasts of high technical trends and is entertaining by going beyond expectations as per critics.

 

The other film released last week Routine Love Story is equally going strong, proving that the state audience gives importance to entertaining. This differently narrated romantic tale has Sandeep Kishan and Regina in the lead roles.

Business news: Stock markets open today on a positive note inspite of the weakening of the rupee and the gold surging upwards. Sensex opens up with 90 points while Nifty at 30 points in the moring hours, that is good news for analysts.

 

FDI in retail: The constituents of the UPA are to meet today and decide the future recommendations in the FDI in retail decision. There has been an utter chaos in the parliament ever since the winter sessions began by the oppositions over the issue.

Port Blair: Mild tremors felt in Andaman and Nicobar islands in the early hours of the day. The tremors were measuring 4.8 on the richter scale.

Sports: Team India falls due to top order failure in the second test match against England at Mumbai. The English spinners attack the Indians on their own turf and level the series with this victory. As per the Hindu myth, Bal Ganesh is the God who helps one tide over all hurdles in completing the assumed task, if first prayed to him. History Speaks: Hyderabad Nawab formally agrees to join his princely state as an integral part of the Indian Nation.  Today is also considered as a dreadful day when the first anthrax powder filled envelope was delivered to a recipient in 2003.

Days Specialty: Today is World water monitoring day, founded by the America's Clean Water Foundation in the year 2003. It is stated that 'World Water Monitoring Day is an international education and outreach program that builds public awareness of the importance of protecting water resources around the world by engaging people to conduct basic monitoring of their local water bodies.' At least today lets all join and promise to save every drop of water for our future generations. As water unsaved will not last for long.

Tirupati: Devotees rush normal and sources say that only 5 compartments are filled with devotees to have a glimpse of the Lord. Ordinary darshan will just take three hours for the devotees in queue. Ideal time to have a darshan of the lord of seven hills.  For stats 62,883 visited the holy shrine on Monday. The  much awaited  Brahmotsavam commence today, with an early hours pooja invoking the Gods and Goddess of the Hindu Myth. Yesterday the lord was taken out on a procession and then was presented with silk garments. It is festive time out here in Tirumala.
