Hidden Treasure In Shiva Temple

Some hidden treasure was found under the Dhwaja Stambham of Ksheera Rama Lingeswara Swamy Temple in Palakol in West Godavari District.  The Dhwaja Stambham fell down in the month of November last year.  While the re-erecting is going on some gold and silver and copper coins were found. 

Archeological department is counting and assessing the value of the treasure which as they say, will be revealed after the counting work is over.

Palakol Ksheera Rama Lingeswara Swamy temple is one of the Pancharamas in Andhra Pradesh.  When the Dhwaja Stambham fell down many feared that something bad may happen.    But the hidden treasure makes the temple rich now for taking up devotional activities in a better way.

As scholars say, the property of the temple used to be hidden to safe guard from the thieves and bandits as there were no Banks to deposit the funds of the temple.  Now the temple authorities have an additional responsibility of protecting the treasure and also see that no un-authorized digging will take place. 

Palkol incidentally is the birth place of some cinema personalities like Allu Ramalingaiah, Dasari Narayana Rao, Kodi Ramakrishna and others.
