Scientific importance:  In 1877 the first record player or Phonograph was introduced by Thomas Alva Edison, for recording and reprodcution of sound recordings.

History: India lost most acclaimed business man Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata  who was not only known for his anti-corruption stands but also for his enterprising vision. The founder of the salt to software giant 'Tata' died on this day in 1993.

JRD Tata as he is fondly mentioned was a French-born Indian who was the first licenced pilot from the country. He is known in the business circles for his high ethical standards and innovative skills.

Importance of the day: UN observes the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people to mark the annual anniversary of resolution 181.

Tirupathi: Devotees influx is quite normal in the temple town. In the morning only eight compartments were filled with piligrims waiting to have darshan which might take maximum four hours. On Wednesday the Lord was invoked with sparkling deepams (lighted diyas) on account of Karthika Pournami. The number of piligrims who visited the shrine yesterday were 48,363.

Padayatra: TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu on his Vastunna Mee Kosam crosses Medak district and treks in the Nizamabad district for the second day today. The veteran shall be walknig across a stretch of nearly 17 kms while addressing many groups enroute.

YSR Congress party leader Sharmila on her 'Maro Praja Prasthanam would be treking in the Mahbubnagar distrcit and the stretch she would be covering is 17.5 kms for the day.

Hyderabad: Results of the Assistant Statistical Officers (ASO)exams held on 29 July are declared today.  The certificates verification shall commence from December 06...as per a press release by APPASC.

Bandh on December 12: Central government employees of the state plan for a massive protest  on 12th next month. The departments that shall be closed on that day would include Income Tax, Passport, Excise, Survey of India etc. So plan your work ahead to avoid disappointment on the day.  

Nellore: Devotees gathered in huge numbers at the Nellore Mosque to celebrate the last day of 'Rottela Panduga'. The annual event was celebrated with fervour by devotees of various faiths.

Recharge in Railway stations: Indian Railways has issued green signal to selling mobile recharges on railway platforms. The decision was taken after noting the wide spread of mobile usage across the country.

Tollywood Gossip of the day:  After a gap of almost two decades Tollywood is abuzz that creative director Mani Ratinam would be directing South Superstar Rajnikanth for his next flick after Vikramasimha 3D (Kochadaiyaan in Tamil). That is news and if it turns true, visual delight to his fans. The duo gave the blockbuster 'Dalapathi' in 1991 which also had Malayalam superstar Mammotty in a prominent role.

Sports: Former Australian Captain and a legend amidst cricket fraternity announces retirement from Test cricket on Thursday. He will be playing his last test match (168th) at Perth, this week against South Africa. Tirupati: Devotees rush is normal and nearly eight compartments are full in the queue complex. The average darshan time is less than four hours. Nearly 66,250 devotees visited the temple town on Monday. The temple authorities plan to celebrate the Karthika Pournami utsav on Wednesday. The celbrations would be a cynosure to the devotees late in the evening after the regular poojas.

Entertainment: Dhamarukam going strong. The socio-fantasy flick with Nagarjuna and Anushka Shetty, in the lead, seems to be breaking all records from day one. The film boasts of high technical trends and is entertaining by going beyond expectations as per critics.

 

The other film released last week Routine Love Story is equally going strong, proving that the state audience gives importance to entertaining. This differently narrated romantic tale has Sandeep Kishan and Regina in the lead roles.

Business news: Stock markets open today on a positive note inspite of the weakening of the rupee and the gold surging upwards. Sensex opens up with 90 points while Nifty at 30 points in the moring hours, that is good news for analysts.

 

FDI in retail: The constituents of the UPA are to meet today and decide the future recommendations in the FDI in retail decision. There has been an utter chaos in the parliament ever since the winter sessions began by the oppositions over the issue.

Port Blair: Mild tremors felt in Andaman and Nicobar islands in the early hours of the day. The tremors were measuring 4.8 on the richter scale.

Sports: Team India falls due to top order failure in the second test match against England at Mumbai. The English spinners attack the Indians on their own turf and level the series with this victory. BCCI will be meeting today with the selections commitee chairman Sandeep Patil to discuss the team for the next two test matches in Kolkata and Nagpur.

6 infants killed in 24 hours: MedicalCollege Hospital in Malda is once again in the news for all wrong reasons. At least six infants were killed in this hospital in less than 24 hours, which triggerred outcry across the nation. With this six infants' death, the death toll of babies mounted to 19 since Saturday. The hospital authorities maintained  that the kids were brought in critical condition who suffered with acute malnutrition.

 

India enters into agreement with China: The Government of India has entered into an agreement with China to develop railways. As per the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) both these countries would mutually cooperate on rail technology and know-how.  

 

Sports:  BCCI selection committee headed by Sandeep Patil would to select the team for the next test match with England in Kolkata and Nagpur. Since Team India lost its second test in Mumbai, changes are likely to take place in the team and its batting order.

Corporal punishment: Jaipur girl who developed serious ailments after she was subjected to corporal punishment has succumbed to cancer on Friday. The eight-yer-old girl initially developed a wound when her teacher allegedly thrashed her in 2010 for not doing home work. The eye injury turned in to cancerous tumour, which eventually claimed her life.

 

  Vastunna Meekosam: TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu's padayatra, Vastunna Meekosam is going on full fledged in Rangareddy district. Today, Babu is going to resume his yatra from Veerappalli of the district. Notably, this is his tenth day tour in Rangareddy district. It is known that Chandrababu Naidu kick started Vastunna Meekosam on October 2 on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi.

Chiranjeevi: Central minister Chiranjeevi last night offered prayers at Daiva Sannidhi, the temple in Film Nagar of Hyderabad. Later, he presented silk threads to Sri Anjaneya Swamy. Legendary actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao met Chiranjeevi at his residence-after Chiru performed puja-and felicitated him with a shawl.

Sanai Nehwal: Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal has retained her third position in Badminton World Federation Rankings (women). She reportedly expressed her happiness to retain the position and apparently said she wanted to clinch to number one.
