India lost most acclaimed business man Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata
who was not only known for his anti-corruption stands but also for his
enterprising vision. The founder of the salt to software giant 'Tata'
died on this day in 1993.
Importance of the day: UN observes the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people to mark the annual anniversary of resolution 181.
Tirupathi:
Devotees influx is quite normal in the temple town. In the morning only
eight compartments were filled with piligrims waiting to have darshan
which might take maximum four hours. On Wednesday the Lord was invoked
with sparkling deepams (lighted diyas) on account of Karthika Pournami.
The number of piligrims who visited the shrine yesterday were 48,363.
Padayatra:
TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu on his Vastunna Mee Kosam crosses Medak
district and treks in the Nizamabad district for the second day today.
The veteran shall be walknig across a stretch of nearly 17 kms while
addressing many groups enroute.

Results of the Assistant Statistical Officers (ASO)exams held on 29
July are declared today. The certificates verification shall commence
from December 06...as per a press release by APPASC.

Central government employees of the state plan for a massive protest
on 12th next month. The departments that shall be closed on that day
would include Income Tax, Passport, Excise, Survey of India etc. So plan

Devotees gathered in huge numbers at the Nellore Mosque to celebrate
the last day of 'Rottela Panduga'. The annual event was celebrated with
fervour by devotees of various faiths.
Recharge in Railway stations:
Indian Railways has issued green signal to selling mobile recharges on
railway platforms. The decision was taken after noting the wide spread
of mobile usage across the country.
Tollywood Gossip of the day:
After a gap of almost two decades Tollywood is abuzz that creative
director Mani Ratinam would be directing South Superstar Rajnikanth for
his next flick after Vikramasimha 3D (Kochadaiyaan in Tamil). That is
news and if it turns true, visual delight to his fans. The duo gave the
blockbuster 'Dalapathi' in 1991 which also had Malayalam superstar
Mammotty in a prominent role.
Sports:
Former Australian Captain and a legend amidst cricket fraternity
announces retirement from Test cricket on Thursday. He will be playing
his last test match (168th) at Perth, this week against South Africa.
The Tasmanian is the second best run getter in Test cricket just behind
Sachin Tendulkar with 13,336 runs which included 41 centuries of 167
